Maria Jones

Mezzo soprano Maria Jones possesses a voice of rare quality. Her rich, dark voice enables her to sing much varied repertoire from Wagner to Handel.
Initially Maria trained in performing arts at Italia Conti Academy before entering the Royal Northern College of Music to study opera; on leaving the Royal Northern she made her professional debut as principal artist with the D’oyly Carte Opera at the Savoy Theatre, singing Pitti Sing (The Mikado), tile role (Iolanthe) and Phoebe (Yeomen of the Guard). She later went on to perform the role of Pitti Sing with Carl Rosa in the USA and Rome.
Maria has since toured all over the world, taking in Europe, the United States, Japan, and the South Pacific, performing principal roles with leading companies.
Maria has sung Madame Dangervill (AdrianneLecouvreur) and Suzy (La Rondine)/Holland Park Festival Opera; title role (Carmen)/Clonter Opera; Third Lady (The Magic Flute), Mme Larina (Eugene Onegin),Tisbe (LaCerentola)/English Pocket Opera; Olga (Eugene Onegin)/Kentish Opera; Schwertleite and Siegrune (DieWalküre) and Flosshilde (Das Rheingold)/The Mastersingers conducted by Anthony Legge.
Recent engagements have included a concert performance of Carmen (title role) in Oxford and opera and Jazz concerts in Lanzarote with pianist Ivo Neame . Maria covered the role of Grimgerde (Die Walküre) for the Longborough Festival Ring Cycle and recently made her début at the Royal Festival Hall as Rossweissse (Die Walküre) which was broadcast live on BBC Radio Three.
Maria made her debut in Japan with the Royal Ballet in Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder then went on this season to cover Mahler’s Das Lied Von Der Erde for the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House and in New York at the Lincoln Centre.
This season Maria made her Royal Opera House debut singing Second Lay Sister in Suor Angelica.

Victoria Joyce

Victoria has sung principal roles for English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, English Touring Opera, Opera Holland Park, Grange Park Opera,  Aldeburgh Festival, Buxton Festival, Chelsea Opera, Royal Wagner Society, Operadella Luna  and Carl Rosa Opera as well as 2 tours of Britain’s major concert halls as the star of Raymond Gubbay’s Viennese Spectacular.
Internationally, Victoria has performed principal roles with the Hamburg Staatsoper, Dresden Semperoper, Frankfurt Oper, Berlin Komische Oper, Rossini Festival Pesaro, Opera Limoges, Macerata Festival, and with the orchestra of the Paris Opera to an audience of 40,000! She has performed at the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican, Bridgewater Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall in repertoire ranging from Carmina Burana to an Evening with Gilbert and Sullivan.
Victoria is a huge fan of the Gand S repertoire, and to that end, as well as singing Mabel in Pirates of Penzance for the Queen as part of the 76th Royal Variety performance in 2004 at the London Coliseum, she has been a regular principal artist at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival performing a great many of the wonderful soprano roles, and regularly perform in G and S concerts nationwide.
Recent projects include a live broadcast of Gilbert and Sullivan on BBC radio 2 for Friday Night is Music Night with the BBC concert Orchestra ,Adele in Die Fledermaus for Carl Rosa Opera and a series of concerts with the world renowned Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.
